My name is Chris Nast. I am a Tucson native. I have a lot of hammers.
I started teaching myself how to weld and build things in 2011. I am proficient in a range of modern and archaic metal forming skills. These include all the things that happen around an anvil and a fire, repoussé and embossing both steel and soft metals, traditional metal joinery, toolmaking, spring making, and so on. My access to these foundational skills allows me to design and execute metalwork in a wide range of styles and work attitudes.
As of spring 2017 I am enjoying focusing on my hand skills, artistry, and design proficiency. I am the most interested in commissions where I have the opportunity to engage these skills.
